Allen Edmonds is an American men's footwear and accessories brand founded in 1922 in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The company is renowned for producing high-quality handcrafted shoes, particularly models featuring Goodyear Welt construction, which allows the sole to be replaced multiple times, extending the lifespan of a pair for decades. The brand has earned a reputation among professionals and connoisseurs of classic style: its shoes have been chosen by American presidents, including Ronald Reagan and George Bush. Today, Allen Edmonds caters to men who value durability, traditional quality, and elegant design.
An interesting fact: the company is one of the few remaining shoe manufacturers in the USA that maintains domestic production for part of its collections. Models made from Shell Cordovan leather are especially prized, as this material doesn't crack over time but instead develops a distinguished patina.
Company Advantages
Allen Edmonds pays meticulous attention to the quality of materials and shoe construction: their footwear is crafted from premium calfskin leather with an extensive size range. Narrow and wide lasts are available (from AAA to EEE), which is rare among premium brands. Each model undergoes over 200 stages of hand processing, guaranteeing perfect fit and wearing comfort. The brand offers exclusive custom fitting options for particularly discerning customers. Many buyers note that Allen Edmonds shoes become even more comfortable over years of wear, conforming to the owner's foot.
The company offers several services to its customers:
- Restoration of worn pairs (sole replacement, insole replacement, polishing) for $125-150, which is cheaper than buying new shoes.
- Collector Rewards loyalty program with free shipping, exclusive discounts, and access to special events such as the annual Trunk Show.
- Free shipping on all orders over $100 or for Collector Rewards members.
